Requirements to Graduate

For students entering high school during 2021/2022 school year or thereafter, the requirements to graduate must meet or exceed the following to receive a high school diploma from Sand Creek High School in District 49.

Required Course Credits

Students must earn a minimum of 24.5 credits in required courses. Credits are earned by achieving a D or better in a course.

Demonstration of Mastery

Students must demonstrate their knowledge of Math and Reading/Writing/Communication with at least one of the approved competencies below to show they are ready to pursue a career after high school.

Am I On Track To Graduate?

9th Grade Year: 6 Credits Earned. At the end of the 9th grade year, students will have earned at least 6 credits with at least 3 of those from a core class.

10th Grade Year: 12 Credits Earned. At the end of the 10th grade year, students will have earned at least 12 credits with at least 6 of those earned in core classes.

11th Grade Year: 18.5 Credits Earned. At the end of the 11th grade year, students will have earned at least 18.5 credits with at least 9 of those earned in core courses. 

12th Grade Year: 24.5 Credits Earned. At the end of the 12th grade year, students will have earned at least 24.5 credits and met all mastery requirements. 

*A core course is a course with English, Math, Science and Social Studies

**Each semester long course earns a .5 credit & CE semester courses earn 1.0 credit.
