KPOP Dance Team
Thank you for showing interest in our extracurricular program for this school year! My name is Brianna Weil and I am one of the English teachers here at Sand Creek High School. Additionally, I am the club sponsor for both the KPOP Club and the Breakdancing Club.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with your students this year as we continue to build these respective clubs from the ground up! As the sponsor, I encourage pride and respect in self and school and hope that you will help your student to be the best they can be. Your student is expected to uphold the rules of the school, first and foremost, then the club. They represent the best of our school, and I am grateful for the chance to watch them continue to thrive and grow as students, but more importantly as young people!
The KPOP Club at SCHS is a student-led organization in which students who enjoy Korean pop music and culture can get to know others who share similar interests. Club meetings are often spent practicing the latest KPOP choreography, listening to KPOP music, and coming up with fun ways to incorporate these student interests into the school community.
Breakdancing Club is a student-led organization where students who are interested have the opportunity to learn the art of breakdancing from their peers. Breakdancing Club meetings are often spent practicing agility and flexibility exercises and stretches, as well as personalized choreography for each member’s style. Breakdancing club also engages in discussion and activities that incorporate their interests into the school community as well.
Many of the students in KPOP and Breakdancing Clubs strive to perform their choreography at school functions including sporting events and other extracurricular activities. However, students who wish to be involved in KPOP or Breakdancing Club do not need any dance experience or even an interest in dancing to be part of the club. As long as you have an open mind and an interest in KPOP or Breakdancing, students are welcome to join and see what we’re all about.
