Grade 9

CIC Activity

Location in CIC (from Student Home Page)

1. Career Cluster Survey (25 minutes)

Career Planning Tab > 1st box is Learn About Yourself > Right side, 1st box down is Career Cluster Survey

2. Career Finder/ Saved Careers (20-30 minutes)

- add at least one option to your Portfolio

Career Planning Tab > 2nd box is Explore Careers > 1st box on right side of page, 3rd down is Career Finder > after choosing a specific career, click Add to Portfolio on left side of page. By saving the careers from the career finder, is also satisfying the saved careers milestone.

3. Experience & Activities (5 minutes)

Your Portfolio Tab > 1st box is Your Profile > Experiences and Activities > Add an experience and/or Add an activity

4. Postsecondary and Workforce Goal
(20 minutes)

Your Portfolio > Click D49 Milestones by Grade Level > Scroll to the Goals & Action Plans box. Click Set Your Goals & Action Plans. Next, click Type of Goal and choose from the drop down menu. Do the same for the other boxes. Click Next. On the next page, enter your statements for each of the questions in the SMART boxes. Then click Next. On the goal summary page, enter in an Action Plan task to help you achieve this goal.

Grade 10

CIC Activity

1. Explore Programs/Majors (20-30 minutes)

- add at least one option to Portfolio

College Planning Tab > 5th box down is Explore Programs and Majors > Search or Browse Programs and Majors > After choosing a specific Program, on the left side click Save to Portfolio

2. Compare College & Postsecondary Schools (20-30 minutes)

College Planning Tab > 2nd box is Explore Postsecondary Schools > 3rd box down is School Exploration Tools > 1st option on right is Compare Schools

3. Experience & Activities (5 minutes)

Your Portfolio Tab > 1st box is Your Profile > Experiences and Activities > Add an Experience and/or Add an Activity

4. Postsecondary and Workforce Goal
(20 minutes)

Your Portfolio > Click D49 Milestones by Grade Level > Scroll to the Goals & Action Plans box. Click Set Your Goals & Action Plans. Next, click Type of Goal and choose from the drop down menu. Do the same for the other boxes. Click Next. On the next page, enter your statements for each of the questions in the SMART boxes. Then click Next. On the goal summary page, enter in an Action Plan task to help you achieve this goal.

Career Planning Tab> 2nd box is Explore Careers> Scroll to Military and Veteran Career Resources> click the link for Careers in the Military> explore different career options

2. Free Test Prep (5 minutes)

College Planning Tab > On right side of 1st box is Test Prep > Read through page

3. Experience & Activities (5 minutes)

Your Portfolio Tab > 1st box is Your Profile > Experiences and Activities > Add an experience and/or Add an activity

2. Explore Industries (30-40 minutes)

Career Planning Tab> 3rd box is Explore Industries> choose a career pathway that interests you> Explore Career Pathways

3. Financial Aid Planning (20 minutes)

Financial Aid Planning Tab > 1st box is Financial Aid 101 > Read through options and choose what applies to you

4. Scholarship Finder (20-30 minutes)

- add at least one option to Portfolio

Financial Aid Planning Tab > On right side is Quick Links > Scholarship Finder > Follow instructions to add values then See Matching Scholarships > After choosing a specific scholarship, Add to Portfolio is at top right side of box

5. Free Test Prep (5 minutes)

College Planning Tab > On right side of 1st box is Test Prep > Read through page
